A local option for your CPAP-intolerant patients.
Midcoast Airway & Sleep provides mandibular advancement therapy for adults with obstructive sleep apnea and primary snoring. We test with WatchPAT One, every study is interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician, and we report back to you at diagnosis, at delivery and at efficacy testing.
Who to send us
- Adults with diagnosed OSA who are intolerant of, or non-adherent to, PAP therapy
- Mild to moderate OSA where the patient prefers an alternative to PAP
- Severe OSA in patients who have declined or failed PAP, as partial treatment is preferable to none
- Primary snoring without apnea, once OSA has been excluded
- Patients needing adjunct therapy — travel, hospitalization, or PAP-plus-appliance combinations
- Undiagnosed patients with a positive screen — we can arrange home testing, with the study read and signed by a sleep physician
The 2015 AASM/AADSM clinical practice guideline recommends a custom, titratable oral appliance for adults with OSA who are intolerant of PAP or who prefer alternate therapy, and recommends that these devices be fitted by a qualified dentist.
What you'll get back
The signed study
The full home sleep apnea test report with the interpreting physician's diagnosis, sent to you as soon as it's back.
A treatment plan you approve
We discuss all options with the patient and coordinate the course of treatment with you before anything is fabricated.
Objective efficacy data
Post-titration home sleep testing with the appliance in place — pre- and post-AHI, not a subjective report of feeling better.
Your patient back, undisturbed
We treat sleep-disordered breathing. We are not soliciting your patients' general dental care.
Our Medicare credentialing is in process, and we can't perform home sleep testing for Medicare beneficiaries. Please order the diagnostic study through your own channel and refer with the result in hand; we handle everything downstream.
